My hard weekend of skiing in Chamonix was causing me not a little pain as I lay on the treatment table at Pacifica Day Spa.

I was experiencing the pain and pleasure of the Thai Herbal Ball Massage, one of Pacifica’s signature treatments. After a deep tissue massage (with almond oil combined with ginger, black pepper and lemon essential oils) to identify and work on the tightness in my legs and then back, my massuse Harprit added some Swedish massage to stretch out the muscles. The deliciously scented thai herbs, wrapped in a ball which had been heated, were then introduced with Harprit gently working it over my legs, back and arms.

Although this was a much firmer massage than I am used to, I felt the benefits – particularly in my legs. Harprit recommended some regular return visits to work out the rest. I won’t need much persuading. KC
